Walk it off.

Ride minutes go on the left pan. Steps go on the right. Tipscale finds your rides on its own, and the day is won when your steps outweigh them.

Walk it off Pro

Tip today back, from your wrist.

While today's rides outweigh your steps, the scale page on your Apple Watch shows one button: Walk it off. Once the steps are ahead, the button is gone.

Tap it and a ring fills as the scale comes level. Your wrist taps once at halfway and harder at the end. The walk ends by itself the moment your steps outweigh the ride: Tipped.

Stop after a few hundred steps if that is all you have. What you walked counts, the rest of the debt stays on the scale, and the button waits for you to pick it up later. A ride that lands mid-walk grows the target, and the Watch says by how much.

Part of Tipscale Pro, on Apple Watch with watchOS 26 or later.

How a day is scored

You ride. You walk. The scale keeps count.

  1. A ride is detected on its own. Tipscale reads the motion history your iPhone already keeps and finds the ride. Any vehicle, driver or passenger.
  2. It becomes ride debt. On Standard, one of six levels, every ride minute owes 100 steps. A 24 minute ride puts 2,400 steps on the left pan.
  3. Steps pay it off. Steps come from Apple Health and Apple Watch. Each one lifts the left pan a little.
  4. The scale tips. When your steps outweigh the ride debt, the day is won.
  • No manual entry
  • Any vehicle, driver or passenger
  • No location

A sample day

24 min ride times 100 = 2,400 steps of ride debt

2,760 steps

360 steps ahead

That covers a 3-minute ride.

Levels and the daily limit

Six levels, Easy to No Wheels.

Difficulty sets what a ride minute costs and how many steps win a day with no rides. Easy, Standard and Hardcore win a no-ride day at 3,000 steps; Relentless asks 5,000, Walking Machine 7,000 and No Wheels 10,000. A change applies from today, and earlier days keep their level.

The daily limit is the most steps one day can ask of you: 10,000, 15,000, 20,000, 25,000 or 30,000, or no limit. Rides beyond it still show in your ride time, but add no more weight to the scale.

A limit never cuts a day short before 100 ride minutes. That is why the lowest limit rises with the level, and why No Wheels, where 100 minutes is already 30,000 steps, has none. Until you pick one, a level uses its lowest.

The week

Seven days on one line.

The Week tab puts the whole week in one block: the score so far, the scale, and the seven days. Steps rise in teal, ride debt hangs below in ember, and a dot under each day says won or lost.

One sentence tells you where the week is heading, based on when you usually ride. Earlier weeks and months have their own History screen. Tap a day to see it on its own.

After the free week, a glance at it stays free: the score so far, the scale and the seven days. The forecast, Coach and History are in Pro.

Coach Pro

One small move, worked out on your own rides.

Coach looks at when you usually ride and how long, never at what you ride in. It works out the fewest minutes on foot that would have won at least half of your last five lost days, and shows you which.

Coach needs about five days of rides before its first advice. Choose the minutes below and watch the sample's last five lost weekdays.

CoachProSample

On weekdays you usually ride around 8:15 AM and 5:45 PM, about 45 minutes together.

You lost 5 of the last 20 of those days.

Add 7 minutes on foot around one of them.

That would have won 3 of your last 5 lost weekdays.

Park further away, get off a stop early, or take the long way round.

3 of your last 5 lost weekdays would have been won.

The Monday report

Last week, in seven cards.

Every Monday the week before comes back as a short story: the verdict, time against time, the seven days, the change from the week before, the pattern, one suggestion for next week, and an image to share. If you tried Coach's move, the first card says how it went.

After the free week, the newest report's cover stays free, with its verdict; the rest of the report is in Pro.

Friend challenge

Seven days. Whoever wins more days.

Start a challenge and send the link. Your friend joins from their own iPhone, free or Pro. Each of you is judged on your own scale, at your own level; minutes and steps are never compared. No accounts and no usernames.

If the days are even, the higher score takes it: the Week tab's score, over the challenge's own seven days. If the scores are even too, it is a tie. Your friend sees your nickname, who won each day, your level that day and that one score.
